On February 14th, a milestone moment unfolded in North Lebanon with the groundbreaking ceremony of Koura Technology Park (KTP)—the first in a nationwide series of Lebanon Technology Parks set to reshape the country's economic future. The event brought together key political leaders, industry stakeholders, and project partners, all united by a shared vision: positioning Lebanon as a regional hub for high-tech innovation and advanced industries.
The ceremony featured a series of addresses highlighting the national importance of the project. Remarks were delivered by the Mayor of Kfarhazir, Mr. Ibrahim Jeha, followed by the Minister of Industry, Mr. Joe Issa El Khoury, and the Minister of Technology, Dr. Kamal Shehadeh. Additional speeches were given by the Chairman of the Parliamentary ICT Committee, MP Tony Frangieh, North MPs Dr. Fadi Karam and Mr. Michel Moawad, alongside representatives of the shareholders and the project owner, Mr. Fadi Daou. Each speaker underscored the transformative potential of KTP in revitalizing Lebanon's economy and creating sustainable opportunities for future generations.
Koura Technology Park stands as a flagship development, spanning a total land area of 97,859 square meters. The master plan includes six interconnected blocks and one dedicated parking block that can accommodate 340 vehicles, with a total built-up area of 76,400 square meters, beginning with the construction of Block A. Designed to host multinational high-tech companies, the park will provide integrated spaces for production facilities, assembly lines, offices, and storage—encouraging cross-tenant collaboration and innovation at scale.
Beyond its physical infrastructure, KTP represents a strategic investment in Lebanon's greatest asset: its people. Lebanon continues to possess a unique blend of highly skilled human capital, entrepreneurial drive, and strong global ties through its diaspora. These strengths, combined with a renewed commitment to innovation, form the foundation of the Lebanon Technology Parks initiative.
As the first step in a broader national vision, Koura Technology Park signals the beginning of a new economic model—one driven by technology, knowledge, and global integration. It is not just the launch of a project, but the laying of a cornerstone for Lebanon's long-term resilience, competitiveness, and growth.
